Curiosity Box #16 (Poincaré) | found box, pigment prints, mixed media | 2007
This work refers to the recent proof of the Poincaré conjecture by mathematician Grigori Perelman. This century old problem has been considered so important that a prize of one million dollars was offered for its solution, which is expected to have broad practical application. It is, however, so abstruse that it is difficult to explain the problem, let alone the solution, to laypersons. It exemplifies theoretical constructs which are beyond our grasp, and for which we must rely on experts.
